Webinar Description
PIBC's second webinar on Climate Action focuses on the status of action plans on climate change mitigation in B.C. and the Yukon. Specifically, it looks at the mitigation or reduction initiatives that have been identified in Community Energy and Emissions Plans and how these initiatives are being implemented in two very different communities: The Resort Municipality of Whistler and the City of Surrey.

Our speakers will identify challenges encountered during implementation and discuss how these challenges (anticipated or not) are being addressed. The focus is on best practices and tools that can be used at the local level to help planners and others who are involved in climate action initiatives to better understand the challenges and opportunities associated with local mitigation (reduction) plans.

Our Speakers:

Rory Tooke, Community Energy Planner, Planning & Development Department, City of Surrey

Jake Belobaba MCIP, RPP, Senior Planner, Resort Municipality of Whistler|
