The Vancouver Island North Chapter Committee is excited to bring you a presentation by Kim Fowler on Dockside Green, a 15-acre redevelopment in Victoria, BC, that achieved the world’s highest sustainability rating under the LEED green building rating system in 2008 and 2009.
We invite you to join us as Kim provides an in-depth presentation on successes, stories and lessons surrounding the 18-year project history of Dockside Green and her time as project manager outlining certain aspects of the multi-year development and operation of the project. Kim’s presentation will explore some of the innovative approaches involved in helping achieve the historic sustainability rating, including the extensive brownfield redevelopment of the site.
About the Speaker
Kim Fowler has 30 years of experience working as a professional planner and sustainability expert with multiple local governments and has a proven track record of successfully implementing projects, including managing the visioning, planning and land sale of the Victoria Dockside Green Lands. Kim Has also written a book detailing her personal and professional experiences with the Dockside Green Project entitled Dockside Green: The Story of the Most Sustainable Development in the World.

After the Lunch and Learn Webinar, the Vancouver Island North Chapter Annual Meeting will be held from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm. There will be a presentation on the Chapter Committee’s annual report and upcoming events. Come ready to share your ideas for professional development and social events in our Chapter for 2021.
