Laura Tate PhD
Laura Tate Associates

Laura Tate has worked in several Metro Vancouver area cities and for several BC government agencies, including assignments as a Manager of Growth Strategies, Director of Aboriginal Healthy Living, and Provincial Director of the Community Action Initiative.  She is the author of the book Beyond Rationality: Impactful Planning and Policy in a Post-truth era (Routledge, New York, 2021); co-editor of Planning for AuthentiCITIES (Routledge, New York, 2018); and co-editor of Actor Networks of Planning (Routledge, London, 2016).  While conducting her research, Laura taught urban planning and policy in the United States, as a Visiting Lecturer at Eastern Washington University in Spokane, and the California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo.  Laura currently works with her partner on a green subdivision using site adaptive planning principles in suburban Victoria, while also providing in-house training and consulting to assist planners, engineers, and other professionals and decision-makers in civic arenas.

 

Lynda Monk, MSW, RSW, CPCC

Lynda Monk, MSW, RSW, CPCC is the founder and director of Thrive Training & Coaching.  She offers training workshops, coaching programs and inspirational speaking to various government and non-profit organizations with extensive experience in healthcare, emergency services, education, social and public service sectors. As a Registered Social Worker, Certified Professional Co-Active Coach, trainer and facilitator, Lynda brings over 25 years of combined clinical and training experience in both individual and organizational change. With an expertise in stress management, burnout prevention, resiliency and work-life balance, she has trained thousands of professionals in various jurisdictions across Canada and worked one-to-one with hundreds of clients over the years.  Lynda believes the well-being of professionals, who make a difference, is foundational to both quality service delivery and career satisfaction alike.

A Senior Vice President at Argyle, Jane leads a national team of engagement specialists, and is one of approximately 18 IAP2 certified public participation practitioners in Canada. From working with communities on major projects in the energy and transportation sectors to facilitating strategic vision and public policy discussions to Indigenous engagement, Jane has more than 25 years of experience in bringing people together to find common ground, build lasting relationships and develop solutions to today’s most challenging issues.
