Project Manager – Agriculture and Environment

To ensure we deliver exceptional results to our residents and other stakeholders we are recruiting for an experienced individual with a collaborative working style, outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills, strong technical ability, and with local government experience.  We also like to have fun and a good sense of humour is always appreciated.

Reporting to the Manager of Planning, this position will lead the planning and implementation of agricultural and environmental planning projects for the City. The Project Manager – Agriculture and Environment will determine and develop the approach and research methodology for policy and planning projects; prepare grant applications; develop policy and initiative proposals in various areas, particularly agriculture and environment; as well as provide input on strategic direction, policies and objectives.

This position will also collaborate with City staff across multiple departments on the coordination, research, preparation and implementation of other City plans and initiatives.

Preferred candidates will possess an equivalent to a Bachelor or Master degree in Regional, Urban, Environmental Planning or Agricultural Sciences (or related science degree with agricultural emphasis). Eligibility for a PAg designation with the BC Institute of Agrologists and/or eligibility for MCIP designation with the Canadian Institute of Planners/RPP designation with the Planning Institute of BC is preferred, along with considerable related professional planning or agriculture experience including 3-5 years of progressive supervisory and administrative experience OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.
