This 4-Day Level 2 Advanced Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) will take the participant to the next level in their formal CPTED training. By targeting real world issues to enable the candidate to assist in creating safer built environments utilizing the most recent CPTED theory and practices.
The course from June 9 - 12, 2025 involves daily case study exercises with various levels of complexity.
Course topics include:
- Displacement, Hot Spots, Offensive Space, Hot Routes, Tipping Points, Displacement, Threshold Points, Halo Effects, Street Disorder;
- Site Assessment and Report Writing;
- CPTED and Schools;
- CPTED and Social Housing;
- CPTED and Street Disorder;
- Architecture and CPTED Areas of Concern;
- CPTED & Parks (half day);
- Physical Security in the 21st Century.
Course material will be presented in classroom and field trip settings, utilizing audio visual methods and site inspection techniques and experiences. The bulk of participant learning will be done in a "hands on" manner, utilizing in-class case studies and real-world syndicate projects.
