Policy & Public Affairs Committee
The Policy & Public Affairs Committee is a standing committee of the Board and is responsible for the oversight, coordination, and direction of the Institute’s issues policy work, government relations, and legislative and regulatory affairs. Within the PPAC is the Climate Action Sub-Committee and the Registered Professional Planners (RPP) Regulation Committee.
Current activities: An analysis and report on how the new Professional Governance Act (PGA) may apply to PIBC, monitoring the previous BC Ministry of Municipal Affairs’ Development Approvals Process Review (DAPR) process, and engaging with both the new BC Ministry of Housing, as well as the BC Ministry of Municipal Affairs. The Climate Action Sub-Committee published the revised Climate Action Policy.

Climate Action Sub-Committee
The Climate Action Sub-Committee is responsible for delivering ongoing climate related planning education and professional development to members. The Climate Action Sub-Committee published the revised Climate Action Policy and continues to be involved with CPL webinar offerings and contribution of climate-focused articles to Planning West magazine.
