The Director, Development Services provides long-range vision, leadership and guidance on land use and development activities, sustainability, environmental and climate action initiatives within the City, and is responsible for directing and managing the overall operations of the Development Services Department. Serving as a key member of the executive management team for the organization, the Director must also work closely and collaboratively with all team members of the City, as well as other partners such as K’ómoks First Nation, the Comox Valley Regional District, and the provincial government, among others.

You have a demonstrated track record of working collaboratively with a wide variety of partners in order to develop sustainable solutions and effect change to improve operations and service delivery. You have a reputation for being an experienced manager who can lead and engage a diverse team of functional professionals and experts, and coach and mentor for future succession. In addition, you bring an exceptional reputation for achieving results in a multi-partner environment, taking a systems view of issues.

The targeted salary range for this position is $144,657 – $164,383 annually, supplemented by a competitive total rewards package.
