The District of Lake Country is seeking a permanent full-time Manager of Development to join their team. Reporting to the Director of Engineering and Environmental Services, they will be responsible for leading the Development Engineering team, managing the District’s development application processes, and fulfilling the role of the District’s Statutory Approving Officer. The Manager will work in a fast-paced environment and have a high degree of leadership, technical ability, and collaboration. Leadership will include a high level of interdepartmental coordination as well as liaising with the business community, developers, the public, senior administration, and Council. The normal work week is 40 hours, with a Monday to Friday schedule and does include evenings to attend council and other meetings.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Planning, or related field (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered). A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in the field of land development, with at least 2 of those years being in a leadership role is required, with preference given to candidates with experience working in local government. Experience serving as a Statutory Approving Officer within BC will be considered an asset. The District offers a competitive salary, and a comprehensive pension and benefits package.
