The City of Nelson is seeking applicants for the Permanent Senior Planner position that is currently open. This leadership opportunity provides strategic guidance that will ultimately result in the successful delivery of projects that enhance Nelson and foster a resilient and sustainable community.

Are you a highly skilled professional in development planning and policy writing, with a knack for creative problem-solving and building positive relationships? The City of Nelson is looking for someone just like you! We seek a dynamic individual with a university degree or Master's in Planning or a related discipline, coupled with at least five years of progressively responsible experience in planning. Membership or eligibility for membership with the Canadian Institute of Planners is also required. Your role will involve leveraging your expertise to support and build our vibrant community, ensuring resilient and sustainable development.

We understand that some may be hesitant to apply unless they meet every criterion. However, we are more interested in finding motivated individuals who are passionate about enhancing Nelson and fostering a resilient and sustainable community. If this role excites you but you feel you don't meet every qualification, we still encourage you to apply and tell us why you believe you'd be a great fit. Join us and help shape the future of our community!
