The PIBC South Coast Chapter is happy to host a walking tour led by Landscape Architect Saba Farmand, a public speaker, contributing writer, and community builder as the curator of @eastvan_blvd_gardens on Instagram!
Saba uses boulevard gardens as a framework for lessons on environmental education, nature awareness, and urban literacy. This is done through his Instagram account, and also through his boulevard garden walking tours that have raised thousands of dollars for a neighbourhood non-profit and garnered local and national media attention.
When: Tuesday, July 9, 5:30pm - 6:30pm
Where: Meet on the corner of Windsor and E 13th Ave. (992 E 13th)
Cost (plus 5% GST): $10 Members, $8 Students, $12 Non-Members
Register here: https://cvent.me/EEYAVo
We will be taking a picturesque stroll through Mount Pleasant while learning about the social and ecological benefits of boulevard gardens, as well as the neighbourhood's local history, urban design, and architecture.
Accessibility note: Those with mobility challenges should note we’ll be walking and standing for at least one hour on sidewalks that can be uneven.
