PIBC and its Board of Directors are excited to share the updated 2025-2027 Strategic Priorities for the current two-year term! These were developed and finalized by the Board in the summer and early fall of 2025. The updated 2025-2027 strategic priorities include:
- Pursue Justice, Equity, Diversity, Decolonization, Inclusion & Accessibility;
- Enhance Value, Engagement & Recruitment;
- Raise the Profile of the Institute & Profession; and
- Advance Excellence in Governance & Operations
The strategic priorities continue to be centred around advancing the profession and the Institute internally and externally; advancing inclusion, diversity and reconciliation for PIBC and the planning profession; continuing to deliver and enhance member value; and strengthening operational excellence and effective governance. The plan builds on a strong foundation of key core values, ongoing successful member services and initiatives, and key long-term goals and objectives.
It is also guided by the refreshed and updated mission and vision statements:
Mission: PIBC supports, connects and advances the planning profession in BC and the Yukon through certification, ethical standards, education and advocacy.
Vision: Planning is a trusted, influential profession fostering inclusive, resilient and thriving communities.
Organized and summarized in an accessible, visual One-Page Summary, along with a more in-depth Strategic Plan Final Report, the new strategic plan will guide the work of the Board and Institute over the current two-year term and beyond.
