On June 9th CMHC is launching the next round of the Housing Supply Challenge, which will be of interest to planners and municipalities, titled Getting Started: Pre-development Processes.
It will be focused on improving pre-development processes through the creation and implementation of local solutions. Local governments are strongly encouraged to participate. If selected as part of the shortlisted applicants, they will receive up to $75,000 in funding to prototype proposed solutions for their final submission. If the prototype is selected as a finalist, they will share a pool of $38 million to implement their solution.
There will be a series of pre-launch info sessions about the program and support services, highlighted by the following:
- ECoH session: May 12, 1:30-2:30pm EST
- Podcast: May 13, 7am
- Pre-launch event: May 19
- Launch/Applicant Portal opens: June 9
