Small Housing, in partnership with CMHC, has developed a 2025 Gentle Density Housing Bylaw Guide to provide local governments across Canada with practical guidance on updating zoning bylaws and development regulations to encourage more gentle density / middle housing options. This is an expansion of an earlier guidebook covering British Columbia.

To launch this Guide, Small Housing is holding a 90-minute webinar on Thursday, April 10 at 1:00 PM EST (10:00 AM PST) to go over some of the major themes and lessons of the Guide and hold a Q&A about enabling gentle density housing in your communities.
