This is an online course offered over four Wednesday evenings beginning April 9. This course is eligible for PIBC CPL credits.
Explore the basic challenges and principles of transportation engineering and the role of engineers in developing sustainable cities. This introductory course will survey the responsibilities, decision-making and implementation processes involved in transportation engineering and how it integrates the "hard" and the "soft" sciences. Examining the field's most common tools and applications, you'll observe how decisions are made, and as a result, you'll learn how to work more effectively with engineering colleagues to support the building of better cities and transportation systems.
Note: If you're new to the field of transportation planning, we recommend taking Transportation Planning Foundations (CITY103) before registering for this course.
