Our thriving Vancouver office is looking to add a talented and enthusiastic Community Consultant to join our existing team of professional planners, engineers, and other professionals serving clients and communities across Metro Vancouver and British Columbia. We are seeking someone who can work in-person with the project team. The office provides a flexible work environment which allows the opportunity to work from home on occasion.

About the Opportunity

Our thriving Vancouver office is looking to add a talented and enthusiastic Community Consultant to join our existing team of professional planners, engineers, and other professionals serving clients and communities across Metro Vancouver and British Columbia. We are seeking someone who can work in- person with the project team. The office provides a flexible work environment which allows the opportunity to work from home on occasion.

The Strategic Services team is a dynamic practice area servicing local governments and Indigenous communities as well as provincial and professional organizations. We assist clients in working through problems to discover solutions tailored to their needs. Our team features a variety of professionals from planning, engineering, finance, and project management, who leverage our expertise and perspective to deliver projects in the areas of local government finance and strategic service delivery. We collaborate with clients to answer questions such as:

  • How should we manage our infrastructure to meet current and future community needs?
  • How should we fund and finance needed infrastructure (e.g., development cost charges,

    latecomer agreements, local area taxes, amenity cost charges, general revenues)?

  • What financial policies should we adopt?
  • What options and improvements need to be considered for sustainable service delivery?
  • How should we establish new services and within what framework?

  • Conducting research to ongoing projects to support local governments and indigenous communities (e.g., development and local government finance, policies, and practices).
  • Preparing deliverables such as financial models, background reports, presentations, community engagement materials, and bylaws.
  • Engaging in the collection and analysis of community infrastructure data to develop asset management plans, strategies, and policies.
  • Attending virtual and in-person client and public meetings as required. About You

  • Strong aptitude for understanding financial concepts and working with numbers and spreadsheets.
  • Great communicator with a demonstrated ability to write well, think critically, and is comfortable asking questions.
  • Experience conducting research, analyzing information, and preparing plain-language reports.
  • Service-oriented, thrives in a team environment, and enjoys working on a variety of projects

    with both internal teams and clients.

  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment with a team of professionals who are dedicated to serving our clients.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

This position will have a salary range of $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year based on a 40-hour work week. The range is negotiable based on your skillset and experience.
