We are currently seeking a Development Manager to join our team. The successful candidate, under the guidance of the Director, will be responsible for leading the execution of multiple residential and mixed-use development projects in British Columbia and across western Canada. This individual will be responsible for successfully bringing the projects through design development and municipal approvals, while maintaining schedule, budgets, and project profitability. We are looking for someone who is knowledgeable about the development process, capable of managing large complex projects and passionate about real estate.

The successful candidate, under the guidance of the Director, will be responsible for leading the execution of multiple residential and mixed-use development projects in British Columbia and across western Canada. This individual will be responsible for successfully bringing the projects through design development and municipal approvals, while maintaining schedule, budgets, and project profitability. We are looking for someone who is knowledgeable about the development process, capable of managing large complex projects and passionate about real estate.
The successful candidate for this position will report to the Director of Development and must be a results-oriented, motivated self-starter with a high degree of initiative, comfortable in working in fast paced-environment and able handle multiple projects and timelines.
Responsibilities
- Assist in site evaluation and acquisition, including site feasibility, conceptual design, proforma analysis.
- Contribute towards project concept and design.
Assemble and manage the design and professional consultants required to prepare project applications for
municipal approvals process.
- Liaise with City Staff and Council to facilitate rezoning and development applications.
- Stay current on market trends, market conditions and the local competition in the condominium/rental market.
- Manage and participate in community engagement and stakeholder process as required.
- Work independently to manage project schedules to ensure milestones are achieved in a timely fashion.
- Additional responsibilities and duties may be required to successfully perform this role.
Qualifications
• Relevant post-secondary education such as Architecture, Planning, Engineering or Construction supported with
education in Real Estate or Urban Land Economics;
- Three (3) + years of experience in multi-family residential development on multi-phased projects;
- Knowledge of design, construction and infrastructure would be an asset;
- Possess a strong understanding of the OCPs and zoning bylaws and municipal approve processes;
- An understanding of concrete and wood-frame construction is an asset;
- Possess strong computer skills including Word, Excel, Power Point;
- Possess strong work ethic and attention to detail;
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to balance multiple perspectives;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
