PIBC's Planning Practice and Reconciliation Committee (PPRC) is looking to engage a temporary part-time student intern to assist with work to help actively decolonize planning practices in BC and Yukon and to help the Committee support PIBC members in doing this work. Role Description
Working with key Institute volunteers, in particular with the PPRC, staff, external contractors and others (as required), the student will be expected to:
- Review of work to date: The intern will review the PPRC meeting notes, past presentations, and other resources that the PPRC has acquired over the last three years of its work.
- Collate and format information: The intern will assist the Committee in devising and implementing a strategy for organizing and maintaining the information and resources that the PPRC has acquired to date.
- Update PIBC members: The intern will assist the Committee in developing and coordinating PPRC updates to PIBC members through channels such as the PIBC e-newsletter and/or Planning West magazine.
- Track progress on PPRC’s 2023-2024 initiatives: The intern will assist with tracking and documenting the Committee’s three key 2023-2024 initiatives.

Internship Details
- Proposed start date & end date: May 10, 2023 - May 7, 2024
- Hours of work: Up to 300 hours total over the approximate 12-month period on a part-time basis (typically approximately 5-6 hours per week, as required).
- Remuneration: $25.00 per hour, subject to normal tax & statutory deductions. As a temporary part-time position, unfortunately additional benefits are not provided for this role.
