Planning for Joy - Summer Webinar Series
Sa̱nala Planning
August 8th 2024
1:00 PM - 3:00 PM PST
CPL Units: 2

Sa̱nala Planning is excited to present a summer webinar series, led by CEO Jessie Hemphill and Senior Planner Dana Moraes. Jessie and Dana draw on decades of experience and condense it into two-hour virtual sessions on proposal writing, pre-contact Indigenous planning, Planning for Joy, Comprehensive Community Planning (CCP) 101, community engagement, and plan implementation.

These webinars are ideal bite-size professional development for Indigenous and non-Indigenous planners, planning students, and any community member engaged in bringing about self-determination for their people.

Planning for Joy
Inspired by conversations about Designing for Joy, in this webinar we will explore the idea of Planning for Joy. This concept, developed by presenter Jessie Hemphill, suggests that planners can curb burnout and engagement fatigue by infusing our planning work with more joy, for ourselves and others. We will also talk about relationships between joy and grief/trauma, toxic positivity, and how Planning for Joy can be used as a tool for decolonizing planning. This webinar is designed for Indigenous and non-Indigenous planners and planning students.
