The Planning Institute of British Columbia (PIBC) is very pleased to announce that the Board of Directors of the Institute has formally recognized and designated PIBC member Dr. David Witty Ph.D, RPP, FCIP, as a Life Member of the Planning Institute of British Columbia. The Life Member designation is a unique, rare and high honour granted by the Institute to individual PIBC members who have made substantial contributions and demonstrated ongoing commitment to the Institute and the planning profession. Granting the designation requires nomination by members and the unanimous support of the Board. Congratulations to Dr. David Witty Ph.D, RPP, FCIP - PIBC’s newest Life Member honouree!
Dr. Witty has had a long and distinguished career in planning - working both in practice and in planning academia - and has made diverse and meaningful contributions to the planning profession at both local and national levels throughout. He was most recently the Provost and Vice-President Academic at Vancouver Island University. He was previously honoured and recognized at the national level by being made a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Planners (FCIP). For more information about his background, please click here.
