About the Governance & Nominating Committee

The Institute’s Governance & Nominating Committee is a standing committee responsible for broadly assisting PIBC in seeking member nominees to stand for election to the Institute’s Board of Directors every two years, as well as other governance-related policy work. Working with PIBC staff, and under the leadership of Chair David Block RPP, MCIP, key responsibilities and activities of the Committee include:

  • Assisting in seeking out and nominating qualified members to stand for election to the Institute’s Board of Directors every two years, in accordance with the Institute’s Bylaws;
  • Forwarding the names of identified nominees for election to the Board to the Secretary Treasurer in accordance with the Bylaws;
  • Advising and assisting the Board with respect to and significant relevant governance & related policy matters from time to time;
  • Other relevant responsibilities, activities or projects related to Institute governance matters.

The Committee as a whole normally meets as required, usually not more than 2-3 times per year. At least one meeting of the Committee per year may be held in person, while other meetings are convened and held remotely. Additionally, other work may be undertaken by Committee members from time to time as required, in addition to regular meetings of the Committee.

Volunteer!

We are looking for new volunteer members to join current and continuing members on the Governance & Nominating Committee for the current term and beyond. Volunteer opportunities exist for at least one Certified Member (RPP) with an additional specific opportunity for at least one Candidate Member.

If you are looking for an opportunity to get involved with the Institute and the profession in a volunteer capacity, and would like to be considered for a role on the Governance & Nominating Committee, please submit an expression of interest by email to Committee Chair David Block at: dblock@terrace.ca.

Please tell us a little bit about yourself, your background and any relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and other information you may wish to share about particular areas of interest related to the role and work of this Committee. You are welcome and encouraged to include a short CV or resume with your submission.

Deadline for Expressions of Interest:
