The PIBC Vancouver Island North Chapter is excited to bring you Part 1 of a two-part walking tour series in Downtown Nanaimo. Part 1 is being presented by the City of Nanaimo Development Services Department, and features topics related to heritage planning, current planning, and development. We will stroll through streets and alleys looking at a variety of interesting sites and buildings of the past, present, and future. Come with your curiosity, questions, and ideas. This learning opportunity is worth 2.5 PIBC CPL units.

All participants joining the walking tour will meet at 2:00PM in front of the Bastion (built 1853-55), located at 98 Front Street. There is ample parking throughout downtown Nanaimo. We recommend the Bastion Parkade located at 236 Bastion Street, as it is located halfway between the starting and ending points of the tour, and next to the location of our social event.

Join us for a social event after the walking tour, at the Old City Station Pub, 150 Skinner Street, from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM. Come enjoy an evening of socializing with your fellow planning colleagues!

The walking tour event is limited to 20 participants, while the social is available for all members. Please register for each event separately. The walking tour will cost $10, while the social event is free. We hope to see you there!
