Thermally efficient, airtight and durable building enclosure designs have evolved in recent years from conventional North American practices with the introduction of many new materials to the local market. These materials include air barrier systems, improved tapes and sealants, thermally efficient cladding supports and unique fasteners, along with higher performing fenestration and insulation products. Many prefabricated building enclosure systems have also been developed and successfully integrated into recent projects. This one-day course provides in-depth information about high-performance building enclosures for North American buildings, including single-family homes and large commercial buildings, with a focus on walls, roofs and window systems.
