How to Get a Job in Planning

The PIBC Academic Liaison Sub-Committee is organizing this webinar – booked for 12 PM - 1:30 PM on January 21 - to give you access to planners working in different parts of BC and in different fields of practice to discuss what they look for when hiring younger planners. 

 

Join us for this webinar on insights about what employers are looking for, what career paths lie ahead for you, and what to do to give yourself the best chance of getting a job.  

 

The webinar will feature “planners who hire planners”, including both public and private sector, and different areas of BC:

  • Jeremy Paquin – Development Manager with Orion Construction
  • Emily Gray - Manager of Community Planning at City of Delta
  • David Block - Director of Development Services for Terrace
  • Jill Robertson – Partner at Dialog Design
  • Mark Holland – MC

The webinar will be from 12 noon to 1:30pm and will include comments from each panel member on what they are looking for when hiring young planners, and any advice they have on finding that first job. We’ll then have a good long Q+A session to discuss your questions and get our panel’s advice.
